CO–Lapses by Karma Barnes

Join Karma Barnes for a two-day pop-up exhibition and fundraiser to support CO–Lapses, a large-scale climate-responsive installation that has been selected for the Larnaca Biennale in Cyprus.

On show will be new studio works including abstract landscapes, the Aphrodite series, collages, art prints, small affordable works, and one-off studio curiosities. All sales directly support the installation and production of CO–Lapses.

Developed here in the Northern Rivers, CO–Lapses reflects on the compounded climate-induced experiences of our region and the ways these shape both landscape and collective life. The installation is composed of suspended sculptural forms that slowly release pigmented sand, creating shifting terrains that unfold through time. It speaks to material memory and climate response, offering a visual language for how change is registered and carried forward.

This year, CO–Lapses will be presented at the Larnaca Biennale in Cyprus and at the Arte Laguna Prize Shanghai Edition, placing the Northern Rivers in dialogue with international audiences.
