Bodies of Light is a series developed by Lisa Weizenmüller while living abroad in Europe. What she imagined as a romantic return to her roots instead became a deeply personal period of solitude, reflection, and creative recalibration. Wherever you go, there you are.
In the stillness and darkness of a European winter, Lisa turned inward - seeking colour, structure, and connection through process and material. Influenced by a meditative practice centred on the seven chakras - Muladhara, Svadhistana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddha, Ajna, and Sahasrara - the series explores energy, symmetry, and the movement from darkness to light.
Each work is box-framed by the artist and her father in red cedar sourced from her childhood home, reflecting themes of form, balance, and return.
Bodies of Light stands as a reminder of the importance of stillness and presence. Created as a means of grounding and renewal, the works are offered with the same intention: to come back to yourself, to remember that we are celestial beings - we are bodies of light.
